Random Thought #25

Why hasn’t anyone come up with a solar panel that makes electricity by using cosmic rays instead of sunlight? Come on, people! Those will work in the dark, too! And inside walls, where they won’t be ugly and shit on your fucking roof!!

  1. Sell your idea before anyone steals it from here.

“…were you to collect all the energy of cosmic rays over 12 square kilometers, you would have enough energy to power a 60 watt light bulb. ”

“Fortunately, the cosmic rays that strike us routinely simply pass harmlessly through our bodies. Unfortunately, this is also what makes them difficult to harness into electricity.”

  3. that is a random thought…

  4. I’m still hoping for a sonic screwdriver.

  5. John Erickson Says:

Better to make solar panels thin, flexible, and most of all, CHEAP! (Yeah, I know they have the first two.) A double-win on that one – cover your roof, no more leaks and free electricity!
Though I really liked Homer Simpson’s idea for green energy. Get your own windmill generator, then drive it by fans plugged into your neighbor’s house.
I’m currently planning how to lay a large-diameter cord under the driveway for my own green energy plan. Well, more of a “drive the rednecks outta the other house” plan….

    • It could power your weaponed-up Yugo.

      • John Erickson Says:

Naw, once you get a decent engine, you can only get one or two fifties on a Yugo. I need a nice, big Town Car that I can mount a couple forward Vulcans (the guns, not the guys with pointy ears) and still have room for a nice flaming oil slick out the back. And maybe some spikes.
Would that leave me room for a turret with a laser, or would I need an SUV for that? Or the chain gun off the Apache, either would work….

  6. Don’t worry, spray on solar panels are being developed. After that the possibilities are endless. I’ll leave the rest to your imagination 😀
